Cadim
Ceramic Art CO-OP Gallery
Our gallery and shop
Cadim is the Hebrew word for amphorae.
Cadim is a ceramics gallery, situated in a historical quarter, one of Jerusalem's first quarters that were built outside the walls of the Old City, on a charming pedestrian street called Yoel Solomon.
The gallery is run as a cooperative, with fifteen ceramic artists in all. We take turns in tending the gallery and serving customers, and in addition each member is responsible for managing a different aspect of the coop. All decisions are made together, usually over a nice meal which we prepare together.
The wonderful thing about Cadim is that each artist has a unique style, and so customers and visitors encounter fifteen different ways of working with clay, exhibited in a large selection of contemporary Israeli ceramics.
