Kyla Talmi
Born in England, Kyla has lived in the Galilee region in Northern Israel for most of her life.
Kyla creates functional tableware for everyday use. Her hand thrown stoneware, with lead-free and food-safe glazes, is fired in a gas kiln to a temperature of 1250 c, making it suitable for use in the oven, microwave or dishwasher. The minimalistic lines and quiet tones of her glazes provide the perfect backdrop for serving food and will compliment any meal. Her hope is that her pottery will become an integral and enjoyable part of her customers’ lives.
As is expected from gas fired pottery, the ware from each firing will vary slightly in color and glaze markings. This is a celebrated attribute, ensuring that each piece is unique and one of a kind.
